Chapter 1

concepts: biological perspective, sociological perspective
questions:
     (1) How does psychological science differ from pseudoscience and folk wisdom?
     (2) Although many people think that all psychologists are therapists, the field of psychology is actually much more diverse. Describe several other specialties within psychology other than clinical psychology, such as experimental psychology, developmental psychology, or industrial/organizational psychology.

Chapter 2

questions:

Explain why a correlation, by itself, does not establish a cause-and-effect relationship between two variables.
     (2) How is empirical evidence different from intuitive and anecdotal evidence?

Chapter 3

concepts: evolutionary psychology, behavioral genetics
questions:
     (1) From an evolutionary perspective, how can we explain aggressive or altruistic behaviors?
     (2) 
How might genetic differences between people lead to differences in intelligence?  Also, list several environmental factors that can affect intelligence.
